How to reach Paris city centre from the airport?

Arriving from Charles de Gaulle airport (Roissy):

You have 2 choices when arriving to CDG airport:

1)    Roissy Bus: Probably the easiest way to reach Paris if you are not arriving during the rush hour (8-10am/17-20pm). It takes about 45min. Cost: 10,5€. The bus will permit you to reach Opéra metro station. And from the Opéra you can take the metro line 3 (green line) to Republique (direction Gallieni).

2)    RER B-train: It takes about 45min to reach the center of Paris. Cost: 9,75€. Several stops in Paris: Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les Halles, St Michel-Notre Dame, LuxembourgPay attention to follow the right direction (St Remy-les-Chevreuses/Robinson) towards Paris. The best way would be jump off at Gare du Nord, change in to the metro line 5 (orange line) that goes in direction of Place Italie and jump off at Republic.

Arriving from Orly airport:

Again, you can choose to take a bus or RER-train.

1)    Orlybus: Very easy. Cost: 7,5€. The bus will permit you to reach Denfert Rochereau metro station in 30min and from there you can join Paris city centre by the metro line 4 (the lila line in direction Porte de Cligancourt): jump off at Strassgourg Saint Denis and the metro line 8 or 9 to reach Place Republique.

2)    Orlyval + RER B: If you wish to take the RER, first to take the Orlyval shuttle to join the RER B at Anthony Station (direction Mitry-Clay/ CDG Airport). This is fairly fast way to join Paris (around 45min). The RER B Several stops in Paris: Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les Halles, St Michel-Notre Dame, LuxembourgThe best way would be jump off at Gare du Nord, change in to the metro line 5 (orange line) that goes in direction of Place Italie and jump off at Republic.

The joint ticket costs The ticket costs 11,5€.

Taxi

If you wish to take a taxi from the airport to your hotel the cost is around 60 euros for 3 persons.

Transport in general

During your stay, if you wish to take public transport, check out the Parisian metro plan (attached).  If you will take the metro several times, it is cheaper to buy a book of tickets (carnet): 10 tickets/ 13,70€, instead of 1,7€/ticket. You can buy these at all metro stations in machines or from guichet.
