Rosario works in the City Hall of her city in the Castilla La Mancha region.

Her municipality is president of the association Acevin

The objective is to work in projects of local economical development of cities whose economy is based on the wine production. The cultural wine heritage is used to create projects, employment, development.

They are going to design a Wine route. All the municipalities (5O each wine route) are working on it because they are in contact with local stakeholders but also companies joined this project. They have 25 routes of wine in all Spain. The project is supported by the Ministry of economics. Some of these routes put together golf and wine.

Jerez and Cadiz will be included in the wine route for SE.TOUR.

Fandango carried out an analysis and found out that wine and golf tourism are increasingly becoming popular and golf is often linked to the concept of wellbeing.

Ø  What will we produce? Transnational tourist product for seniors. The Local Supporting Groups will be essential to develop and test tourist packages together with senior travellers.

Ø  This product will be tested by: 24 seniors each travel (12 from each country).

WP1 - Management

State of the art of setting up Local Supporting Groups (LSG)

1) Involvement of local stakeholders

Ø  LSG should participate in local events.

Ø  All members of the LSG must be located in the same area.

Ø  We can involve more Stakeholders in the LSG over the whole duration of the project.

Ø  We need 2 golf courts in 100km at least, Fandango (Sabrina) can help E-Seniors and Acevin to find more golf courts.

Italian chose LSG from Abruzzo Region for the development of the tourist package. They did this choice because the touristic offer is not very developed in this region yet but the wine sector is strong and there are also golf courts. Italian LSG is composed of seniors associations, tour operators, golf clubs, sport association, associations of seniors golf players, media (newspapers about golf and tourism), local institutions and public bodies and national association of golf and wine.

Fandango collected 2 letters of interest so far.

Only E-Seniors sent a draft of the LSG so far. All partners are to send it ASAP.

2) Letters of Interest

Letters of interest are also milestones, without them we can't go on with other activities. We can't extend the timeline of the project.. Just keep in mind that in March 2016 we need to run pilot tests.

We can translate the letter of interest in our language.

By the 10th of October all partners are to provide 2 or 3 letters of interest.

WP2

1) design of the touristic package concept

A tourist package:

Ø It has to last 24h to be defined as a packages, our TP will last days and 7 nights

Ø It is connected to a territory

Ø It has a special feature, in our case golf and wine

Ø Must include restaurants, testing places, shops, travel agencies, tourist offices

To design the tourist package in France we have 2 options:

1.      We can ask Fandango to do it. In this case they will take contact with the economical operators found by each partner in their country (also for this task we can ask contacts to Fandango)

2.      Or we can put Fandango in touch with a tourist agency in Pays de la Loire that will propose a tourist package. We can recommend this agency to include in the package the members of our LSG.

Golf vacation week:

Ø  Packages should be 8 days and 7 nights, structured as follows: hotel or resort accommodation, half board (breakfast and dinner)

Ø  4 rounds of golf (18 holes), 2 different golf courses, we need at least 2 courses since golf players will want to train in different courses

Ø  2 wine testing after golf or during visits of cultural and artistic heritage of the area

Ø  1 wine degu-dinner in a special venue, a wine cellar, or gastronomic traditional classy restaurant.

Factors to consider in the construction of the packages

Ø  Pilot packages should be implemented between March and May 2016

Ø  Accessibility (airports with good international connections)

Ø  Presence of at least one golf resorts or a network of golf courses (either private but accessible to non members or commercial courses)

Ø  Presence of hotels within a reasonable distance from golf courses (30 minutes driving distance)

Ø  Golf courses should be located close to wine production areas with small or medium producers

Ø  Wine producers must be organized for visits to the vineyards and cellars and have appropriate areas for tasting, reception and possibly dining

Ø  Foreign language speaking guides, experienced in wine should be involved in the reception of tourists

2) Development of the Tourist Package

Actions to be implemented in the 4 territories:

Ø  Based on these factors, partners must identify the best location or the implementation of the tourist package.

Ø  Afterwards, involving also the LSG when necessary, partners should identify local tourism products suppliers such as hotels, bus companies, golf facilities, wineries, manages of cultural sites that will be contacted for the development of the tour itinerary in the respective territory.

We should start asking for prices, special offers, free upgrades, ....

Regions for packages development:

Ø  Package in France: Pays de la Loire

Ø  Package in Spain: Near Jerez and Cadiz

Ø  Package in Portugal: Plan Alto de Miranda

Ø  Package in Italy: Abruzzo region

Deadlines:

Ø  By the 31st of October we have to define the list of economical operators

Ø  By the end of November the packages must be ready, Sabrina can help to define the touristic packages. Fandango will approve the tourist packages and prepare the final tourist packages

3) organization of the first meeting with LSG members

The members of LSG can be different from economical operators, for example we can have a confederation of hotels in the LSG, but we can have a specific hotel as economical operator.

We have a budget for the tourist packages.

Meetings with LSG

1.      First informal meetings to inform them about objectives of the project.

2.      Second formal meeting with the LSG once the website will be created. 4.000€ to organize this meeting.

WP2 -

SE.TOUR web portal and app: presentation and discussion on the layout

The web portal will be developed by IDS and will be launched by the 20th of October 2015 (structure and layout with basic info about the project).

The web portal must be senior friendly, ESE will collaborate with IDS on order to achieve it.

1.      One part of the web portal will be a sort of tourist online agency, containing also info about territories + links to tourist information offices.

2.      Another part dedicated to SE.TOUR project in order to respect roles of visibility and communication imposed by the EC.

All partners must provide info about their territory for the Touristic Package.

The web portal must be translated in all the languages of the consortium.

We also need to test web booking because after the project that will be used for commercial purposes.

By the end of November also the sections relating to the Touristic Packages will be developed and the web portal will be ready.

Proposition of domains for the website: wineandgolftour.com

WP3 - definition of criteria for seniors travelers selection

Ø  12 participants per country will be selected. For example, In Italy we will have 4 participants from France, 4 from Spain, 4 from Portugal.

Ø  Budget: 1.300 € each participant, flight and dinners included (about 15.000€ in total for the whole package).

Ø

Criteria for selection of participants:

Ø  Be at least 55 y.o. (compulsory)

Ø  Be associated to a national golf association or to a national/ local association for seniors (compulsory)

Ø  Must be interested in travelling in low or medium season

Ø  In case of selection, commit themselves to take part in project activities until the end of the project

Ø  Be accompanied by other senior traveler at his/her own expenses

It is important to get in touch with a national golf association for seniors because all people playing golf in all countries have to be associated to a golf club that allows also to have a golf association membership card.

The total number of senior travelers will be 24 (12 travelling for free + 12 paying). The second senior traveler doesn't need to be a golf player.

The seniors must be different for each travel, that will allow to have more beneficiaries and also to collect opinions on the TP from different users.

We can start making a list of 100 seniors associated to senior golf clubs. Then we will send an email telling them that they have been selected and proposing the trips.

Usually golf associations and golf clubs are very keen to send their members to play abroad, because golf players love playing golf in new golf courses.

The deadline for the selection of senior travelers is January 2016. By the end of January we must have the list of participants.

Each partner will manage the pilot group in its own country. So for example, ESE will meet the Spanish, Portuguese and Italian seniors and take them to Guérande and eventually will ask seniors to do an evaluation questionnaire.

A good idea is to find clubs of senior players also in France IN ORDER TO FIND SENIOR TRAVELERS FOR THE PILOTS.

WP5 - Communication Plan and visibility actions

E-Seniors tasks:

Ø  Complete and share the Communication Plan with all partners by the 9th of October

Ø  Design the project logo (Rosalia will send her idea), we can subcontract a graphic designer

Ø  Create a Facebook page of the project and give access to all partners

Ø  Mailing list to be defined and shared with partners

As for the visibility, the coordinator will send us the indications of the EC for visibility of EU cofinancing.

Next Skype meeting: 28th of October at 11

Next project meeting in Spain to be defined by the Spanish partner, that will probably take place in Jerez or in Madrid in the end of January-beginning of February.

Any other issue

• A Google Drive folder will be created to share documents within the consortium

• WP leaders will upload the deliverables that will be submitted by the coordinator
