CARE 2.0 is transitioning from a primarily educational partnership to one of the largest training and advocacy networks for caregiving in Europe. CARE partners have developed a unique comprehensive training programme for caregiving. Building on this, in 2019 we are leveraging an even broader network to disseminate the training, expand language offerings, inform policy makers, drive professional certification, and reach citizens across Europe, particularly carers and families to improve care.

The CARE work plan for 2019 will focus on making the CARE Curriculum more accessible through language adaptations as well as through a growth of our CARE network to disseminate and make the products accessible to thousands of carers across Europe.

CARE 2.0 will expand the CARE Curriculum to a broader European community through dissemination for awareness, understanding, and action. The CARE curriculum is personcentred and aims to support aging in place, including preventative measures for adults at risk for illness and a comprehensive palate of tools needed to support complex needs arising at end of life. The curriculum focuses on the role of carers in home care and institutions.

CARE’s educational resources have been developed for all types of elderly carers and will equip them with knowledge and skills to provide the best possible care to meet the needs of older adults. In 2019, following the successful development of the curriculum, our initiative will focus on:

-         Three-pronged dissemination strategy for awareness, understanding, and action using multiple channels and mediums such as (1) online media campaign, (2) partnership with NGOs and localities in key cities in Europe on events, (3) development of strategic partnership with key organizations in Europe through our CARE network, (4) collaborate with cities, NGOs and academia to provide initial training sessions to recruited learners.

-         Certification & Translation to other European languages. Our partners will provide a guide on On-site CARE certification to set a standard and elevate the carer industry in Europe. We will work with third-party translation companies and native-speaker members of CARE Community to translate the content of the materials to different languages.

-         Sustainability and Integration into national and international programs: Continuing and growing our established partnerships with Home Instead Senior Care, Philips, Global Coalition on Ageing and other international organizations to make progress on the agenda of empowering caregiving for the elderly and raise CARE as an exemplar in this domain. In 2018, we are exploring the opportunity of creating a non-for-profit foundation.
