Nowadays, digital technologies are omnipresent. Although the Internet era has been going on for over 20 years,adults still belong to the group of people at risk of digital exclusion. This phenomenon concernsespecially seniors who struggle following technological changes.Our experience also shows that many older people have concerns aboutdiscovering new digital solutions themselves. However, we observe the emergence of many internet services that can improve the quality of life of seniors inits various areas.

 

The aim of the project Smartphone and the Internet in Different Aspects of Life – SIDAL, is to developa new approach for improving adults’ digital competences - digital migrants, in particular seniorsand people with disabilities, by developing a methodology of development of the internet skills usingsmartphones, and applications that affect the quality and safety of life.

 

The result of the project implementation will be the elaboration of a this approach, a new formula forteaching older people and the disabled to use various Internet services and applications that improvetheir own quality of life. The publication Smartphone and the Internet in various aspects of life” will beprepared. It will be a guide for trainers working with adults in the area of using modern digitaltechnologies in everyday life.There will be also pilot trainings for seniors in order to verify and adapt the developed methodology for teaching seniors to the needs and possibilities of participantsAs a result of the project implementation, there will be an increase in the knowledge and experienceof the staff of partner organizations and an increase in the ability to use the smartphone and theInternet in various life situations of the participants of the pilot group. We also expect an improvementin seniors' wellbeing.All participants will experience an increase in cultural awareness and language skills.
