Break the Chain: Providing ways to fight fake news and disinformation online

Objectives:

Break the chain aims to help adults identify the impact that fake news and disinformation have on their behaviour and find ways to alternate the situation. The project will provide a holistic approach, focusing on introducing all the relevant information about fake news and disinformation, their impact on our decisions and ways to detect them.

 

Main goals:

 - Raise awareness about intentional disinformation and fake news;

 -Assist adults in detecting and coping with fake news and disinformation online;

 -Enhance adults’ media literacy skills;

 -Support adult educators in developing innovative training approaches

Project Target Groups: Adults (those aged 55+), adult trainers, schools, Training centres, NGOS, policy makers, Research Institutions, journalists

 

Results:

        - Manual for trainers: creation of a learning, teaching and training material for trainers

        - Web app: open online digital education material to improve skills and knowledge in topics relevant to fake news & disinformation - online app.

        - Dynamic demonstrator: online digital education material, visual interactive tool that demonstrates real-life scenarios through stories, tasks and answers.
